Prudhomme's Lost Cajun Kitchen in Columbia, PA

We had to mention this one, although it is about an hour drive from Harrisburg, PA. Prudhomme's Lost Cajun Kitchen is the Bees Knees! The food and service is always awesome here, the owners are there most of the time and they are great people. This is food from New Orleans, the best Cajun food I've had. You want gumbo, snapper soup, or hush puppies? Then go here. This place is awesome! www.lostcajunkitchen.com

Colonial Lounge a bust this time

We recently went to Colonial Lounge with our Restaurant.com coupon. The service was slow as a snail. It took them forever to get us anything. First it was our drinks and then food. The food was great, however with the cost of the certificate going up with Restaurant.com and the service we will not be back for a long time!

El Rodeo (Various locations from Harrisburg to Mechanicsburg, PA)

El Rodeo rocks. I have not been there in so long, thanks to Lisa for suggesting it again. This restaurant has good food and drinks. The most interesting is a Sangria soda. Almost every month they bring in a Marachi band. You have to check it out: www.elrodeopa.com

Marco Polo Gardens in Harrisburg and Hershey, PA

It's hard to find good Chinese food. Well let me tell you Marco Polo Gardens has really good Chinese food! They serve Northern Chinese. I ordered Kung Pao Chicken and Matt ordered Mongolian Pork both were delightful. They have two locations off the beaten path in Harrisburg and Hershey. Harrisburg is located off of Chambers Hill Road and Hershey is located off of 422. They do not have a website, but everyone knows of them. Check them out!

Nathans in Enola, PA

We love and miss this restaurant/bar! They have great food and nice waiters. Tuesday night are cheap wings and Thursday nights are cheap tacos. There isn't a bar quite like this one. Check it out: www.nathanscafe.com

Colonial Lounge in Harrisburg, PA

Colonial Lounge located off of Mountain Road in Harrisburg, PA. It's a great place, they have many selections. The food is great and you can have a drink without that smokey smell as they do not allow smoking. This is also a place that does restaurant.com if you want to get a coupon. The one drawback is they did not have updated menus. Get over and try it, it's worth it! www.menuscentralpa.com/coloniallounge1.html

Flapjacks in Dillsburg, PA

Flapjacks is the best restaurant ever! It is located on the main drag of Dillsburg on Route 15. They serve diner type food that is so good, many options to choose from and the prices are cheap. Flapjacks also has a bar in the back, so if you want a beer with your pancakes you can have it. We have been there a couple of times and I can tell you it is well worth it. My only bad aside is that service can be slow and sometimes the waiter forgets about your drinks. Besides that this place definately rocks!

Mitaka and Miyako in Harrisburg, PA

Mitaka is a Japanese restaruant located in Harrisburg, PA on 29th Street. Miyako is located on 2nd Street in downtown Harrisburg.

At Mitaka they serve sushi, habachi, and Dim Sum. I have gone there several times with co-workers, friends, etc. We all love it because they have the best service and good food! They have lunch specials too where things are lower priced. The neatest thing I've notice about them is they do Bento boxes even in take out style! I really suggest you try it! They do take out!

Miyako does sushi and interesting appetizers. I only went there once and had their sushi, what I had was very good.

They are all owned by PA Sushi House. I highly suggest Mitaka, but both are good!

Esaan (Thai food) in York, PA

I heard about Esaan by doing restaurant.com. I love Thai food and have tried almost every Thai place around Harrisburg so I decided I wanted to go try it, it was worth the drive! Esaan is located in York, PA which is about a 30 minute drive from Harrisburg. My one complaint is they are not open at night enough, we tried to go down there once on Wednesday and they were closed. Besides that it is a quaint welcoming place. The owner welcomed us when we came in.The menus had a lot of interesting things on it. Our food was delicious! The owner who welcomed us also does gelatto which he let us try a sample of some of the flavors, this was wonderful too. The whole experience was wonderful. If you would like a road trip to a thai place visit Esaan in York, PA.

Restaurant.com

The greatest website in the world! Want to try a restaurant, but can not afford it or it may be too far. Restaurant.com features gift certificates for $25 dollars at a restaurant and if you sign up with them you will be offered a percentage off of them as long as you put in a code. If you wait long enough they do sales for 8O% off which means you get the gift card for 2 dollars. My husband and I often do this and we think you should too!
A word of caution, caveat emptor (Let the buyer beware), I once heard of this site or one like it where someone possibly had their credit card info stolen. We have never had an experience such as this but I just wanted to mention it.

Introduction

I decided to create this blog out of the fact that me and my husband have been to so many restaurants in Central PA, we thought we should write about it and rate resaturants to help our fellow people in Central PA. We, Moriah and Matt have known each other a long time, but just got married in late May of 2009. We love food obviously, but we are different in the fact that we like to try different ethnic foods too. Hope you enjoy the blog.
